What is Raynaud’s phenomenon?

Raynaud’s phenomenon is a disease which means a blood vessels tone is disturbed, causing a tendency to vasospastic reactions in most little arteries (vasospasm – spasm of blood vessels), which causes discoloration of the fingers and toes skin and Less often the entire limb, as well as disruption of blood delivery to the tissues of the limb. The disease is named for the French physician Maurice Raynaud.

The fingers and the toes get chill, palid and torpid. If the small veins shrink, blood can not get out of the capillaries, and the limbs become blue, as the oxygen is pumped out from the blood.
